Testimonials

Being an older student, I see qualities in Bob that make for a very good teacher. Patience, knowledge and professionalism are some of the traits he practices. It doesn’t take long to see how he brings out the best in a student.

Mike Lare

My guitar playing has dwindled over the past couple of years as I had hit a wall and had a hard time finding the right focus areas to improve. Bob has done a great job of selecting lessons and focus areas to bring my guitar playing to the next level, and greatly increase my motivation to continue playing. I would definitely recommend Bob for guitar students from beginner to advanced level.

Bob has been a great teacher for our daughter, who has been taking lessons for more than a year. He's patient and very laid-back when working with our laid-back kid -- and it's teaching her that learning to play an instrument, even when there are stumbling blocks, can be a joy, not a chore. They're working on both acoustic and electric, and he chooses music that stretches her skills a bit and takes her musical taste into consideration. Plus, he's a great musician himself -- not all musicians can teach, but he can, and does it well.

Jennifer Kopf

Our 7 year old daughter has loved her acoustic guitar lessons with Bob at Robert Putt Studios! We appreciated his patient guidance from first introduction. She loved the lesson time, especially when he demonstrated some of the other guitars and equipment; which he always graciously accommodated whenever she asked. He always took the time to answer her questions thoroughly, he was positive and sincere in his encouragement and critiques, and he always made time for her to share her own creativity during their lessons. I can't say enough good things about his studio, his kind instruction, and his professional talent.

Jennifer Meyers

We are very pleased with Pauls progress. I appreciate the way you are enthusiastic about his personal music interests and also keep introducing him to scales and exercises that help him gain an understanding of all the important elements of music and guitar playing. He has really come a long way with your help!
Thanks.

If it is a 5 week month, the lesson studio will be closed on days that would fall on the 5th week.

There will be no refunds for missed lessons. The time was booked and we have to charge for it. It would not be fair to our teachers to suffer income loss due to frequent cancellations of any kind. However, we will issue a make-up credit if 24-hour notice was given. You have 120 days to use your make-up credit provided there is a make-up slot open in our schedule.

This cancellation policy includes scheduled vacations. Our studio would suffer much income loss if we allowed exceptions for vacations. Please keep in mind if you cancel lessons for the month of a scheduled vacation, you risk losing your slot to a new student sign-up.

If a teacher is sick or on vacation, we will provide you with a make-up lesson or issue a credit on your next billing statement.

Guitars on Main reserves the right to change and update these policies at any time.

General Questions

We believe that getting an early start learning an instrument is a great idea.

However, for guitar lessons, we generally recommend a minimum age of 7 years old. This is because most children at this age have developed the necessary fine motor skills and cognitive abilities needed to learn guitar effectively.

That being said, we understand that every child is unique and some may be ready to start learning guitar at a younger age. If you have a child who is younger than 7 and interested in taking guitar lessons, we're happy to give it a try! After a month of lessons, we'll be able to assess whether or not they're ready to continue.

Ultimately, the decision to start guitar lessons at a younger age should be based on the individual child's readiness and interest. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.

At Guitars on Main, we're passionate about helping seniors discover the joys of playing guitar. Not only is it a fun and rewarding hobby, but it can also have a positive impact on overall wellbeing.

Numerous studies have shown that playing guitar can improve cognitive function, reduce the risk of dementia, enhance fine motor skills, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote relaxation. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping seniors achieve these benefits through patient and supportive guidance in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience with guitar, our lessons are tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.

So if you're a senior looking to improve your physical and mental health, make new connections, and have fun while doing it, Guitars on Main is here to help. Contact us today to learn more about our guitar lessons for seniors and to start your musical journey.

If a student wants to learn rock or metal music, for example, an electric guitar would be a better choice as it can produce the distorted tones and sustain required for those genres. However, if a student is interested in playing folk or acoustic music, an acoustic guitar would be more appropriate.

Ultimately, the decision on which type of guitar to purchase should be based on the student's interests and preferences. Our experienced staff can provide guidance on choosing a suitable guitar based on the student's budget, skill level, and preferred music genre
