Prop 65 Information

Proposition 65 Notice

At Guitars on Main LLC, we value transparency and customer awareness. We want to inform our customers and other interested parties that our business employs fewer than 10 employees. As a result, we are exempt from the California Proposition 65 warning requirements.

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. However, this law exempts businesses with fewer than 10 employees from its warning requirements.

Why Do We Include Proposition 65 Warnings?

Even though we are exempt, we have chosen to include Proposition 65 warnings on some of our products as a voluntary measure. This is to ensure that our customers are well-informed about potential risks and to maintain the highest standards of transparency.

Understanding Proposition 65 Warnings

Proposition 65 covers over 800 chemicals, many of which are commonly found in a wide range of products, from household items to foods and electronics. The warning is not an indication that a product is unsafe; rather, it serves as a precaution to inform consumers about the presence of certain chemicals that may pose risks under specific circumstances. This helps ensure that consumers have the information they need to make informed choices.

About "Bounty Hunters"

Proposition 65 allows private individuals and organizations, often referred to as "bounty hunters," to enforce the law by filing lawsuits against businesses that they believe are not in compliance. While these actions can help ensure consumer safety, they can also lead to unnecessary legal actions against small businesses, even those that are exempt from the law.

At Guitars on Main LLC, we include these warnings voluntarily to avoid such legal risks and to keep our customers informed, even though we are not legally required to do so.

Important Notice to Consumers and Interested Parties:

Our inclusion of Proposition 65 warnings is a proactive step and not a legal requirement for our business. We believe in providing our customers with all the information they need to make informed decisions.
