Among his prized instruments is a rare 1959 Gibson Les Paul Custom, often called the “Black Beauty.” Unlike the standard three-pickup models of the era, Joe’s guitar was a special two-pickup order. It also stands out with Grover® Imperial™ tuners and a Bigsby® vibrato tailpiece.

The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa ’59 Les Paul Custom brings this extraordinary guitar to players everywhere at an accessible price. It features an Antique Ebony finish on an all-mahogany body with aged multi-ply binding on the top and back. The mahogany neck has a comfortable 1959 Rounded Medium C profile, paired with a bound ebony fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid block inlays. A Kalamazoo-style headstock completes the look with its split-diamond inlay and a smooth Graph Tech® nut.

For tone, Epiphone equips this model with a pair of ProBucker™ Custom pickups wired to individual volume and tone controls. High-quality CTS® potentiometers provide excellent reliability and wide tonal range. Gold hardware throughout—including a LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, Grover tuners, and Bigsby B70 vibrato—adds elegance and durability.
