This is the definitive "Player's Grade" vintage amplifier: it retains the "Holy Grail" 1965 heart and soul while featuring professional, no-expense-spared upgrades that make it one of the most reliable, best-sounding Super Reverbs on the market today.

The "Iron" Pedigree (Original Schumacher Transformers)

Unlike many restored units, this amp retains three of its four original Schumacher transformers. These are the foundation of the 1965 Black Panel sound:

  • Power Transformer (Original): Schumacher 606-5-21 (21st week of 1965). The original high-voltage heart of the amp is rock-solid.

  • Filter Choke (Original): Schumacher 125C1A / 606-5-35 (35th week of 1965). Essential for that authentic "Blackface" sag and touch-sensitivity.

  • Reverb Driver (Original): Schumacher 125A1B / 606-5-13 (13th week of 1965). The key to that lush, "drippy" 3D reverb found only on original mid-60s units.

  • Output Transformer (Premium Upgrade): Mercury Magnetics ToneClone FBFS-O40 (Date code 11/09). A deliberate choice to provide the best possible frequency response and 2-ohm stability available today.
