Ultra V

1992 Carvin Ultra V USA – Kahler Steeler Trem, MJ‑Wound Seymour Duncan DCJ

1 item left

Up for sale is a 1992 Carvin Ultra V, USA‑made, in gloss black with black hardware and its original Carvin hard case. This is a neck‑through maple build with an ebony fingerboard, 24 frets, and the classic early‑90s pointed Carvin headstock.

The tremolo is a USA‑made Kahler “Steeler” Floyd‑style bridge with Carvin branding, not a generic licensed unit. In the bridge position, the stock pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan DCJ (Duncan Custom) zebra humbucker. The DCJ label on the back follows Seymour Duncan’s older code format, where “DC” denotes the Duncan Custom model and the “J” suffix has long been associated by players and collectors with pickups wound by Maricela “MJ” Juarez in the Duncan shop, although we can’t independently certify the individual winder. The neck pickup is the original Carvin humbucker, and all controls function as they should.

Our techs have just completed our premium setup, including fret polish, truss‑rod adjustment, action and intonation set, electronics cleaning, and a full tremolo setup so the Kahler Steeler returns to pitch smoothly. It plays fast and clean across the board with low, comfortable action.

Cosmetically, it shows normal light play wear for a 30‑plus‑year‑old guitar but no structural issues or repairs. Overall it’s a very clean example of a USA Carvin shred‑era V with quality upgraded hardware and electronics.

The guitar comes with its original Carvin hard case, which is in solid condition and fits the Ultra V correctly. Between the USA neck‑through construction, Kahler Steeler bridge, Seymour Duncan DCJ bridge pickup, and pro setup, this is a well‑sorted 90s Carvin Ultra V that’s ready for stage or studio.
