An Inspired by Gibson Special that delivers in every way

When Gibson introduced the Les Paul Special in 1955, it was meant to be a step up from the Les Paul Junior. It kept the straightforward, no nonsense feel, but added a second pickup and a few classier touches like a bound fretboard and a mother of pearl headstock logo. That placed it right in the sweet spot between the Les Paul Standard and the entry level Junior. In 1958, the Special moved to a double cutaway body, giving players easier access up the neck. By 1960, a small shift in the neck pickup position and the change to a faster SlimTaper neck profile helped the model hit its stride, improving playability and stability.

Epiphone brings that early 60s vibe back with the Les Paul Special Double Cut, an Inspired by Gibson recreation built to feel right and play easy. It features a slab mahogany double cutaway body for clear access all the way up the fretboard. The glued in mahogany neck has a 60s SlimTaper profile and a bound rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays.

Vintage details are right where you want them. The 60s style Kalamazoo headstock is fitted with Epiphone three on a plate tuners with ivory buttons, plus a Graph Tech nut for steady tuning. The Epiphone logo is inlaid in mother of pearl for that classic look. At the bridge, an Epiphone Lightning Bar compensated wraparound design bolts directly into the body, helping add sustain and resonance.

For tone, it’s loaded with a pair of Epiphone P 90 PRO soapbar single coils, giving you everything from sweet, chimey cleans to gritty, snarling drive. Each pickup has its own volume and tone controls, so you can fine tune your sound quickly and easily.

The Les Paul Special Double Cut lives up to its name with classic style, serious tone, and player friendly feel. A premium gig bag is included.
