The 2016 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in Bordeaux Metallic combines the comfortable feel and reliable construction of the American Standard series with an upgraded EMG DG20 David Gilmour active pickup system.

The alder body delivers the balanced response and familiar character associated with a Stratocaster. Its deep Bordeaux Metallic finish gives the guitar a distinctive appearance that stands apart from more traditional Fender colors.

The maple neck features a comfortable Modern C profile, a 9.5 inch fingerboard radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets. Rolled fingerboard edges provide a smooth, broken-in feel, while the 25.5 inch scale length delivers the clear attack and familiar string tension players expect from a Fender.

This guitar has been upgraded from its original pickups to the EMG DG20 David Gilmour system. Three EMG SA active single-coil pickups deliver clear, articulate tones with strong output and reduced background noise.

The traditional Stratocaster tone controls have been replaced by EMG’s EXG Guitar Expander and SPC presence control. The EXG control boosts the bass and treble while reducing some midrange frequencies, creating a wider and more open sound. The SPC control adds warmth, body, and midrange presence for thicker lead and rhythm tones.

A five-position pickup selector provides the familiar Stratocaster pickup combinations. The two-point synchronized tremolo offers smooth pitch control, while staggered Fender tuning machines help support dependable tuning.

This is a modified American Standard Stratocaster that combines classic USA Fender construction with the powerful and versatile electronics associated with David Gilmour’s signature sound.
