I dug out my ‘98 Les Paul that’s been hiding in storage for 20 years, and took it into Guitars on Main. They recommended a premium setup and a restring. Guitar tech excellence!

Got a cheap Indo tele online from Fender. I knew it would be bad but would have potential. I took it to GoM to have them sort out the issues. Finishing the frets is optional for an off shore Fender factory cheap tele. GoM redid the frets and fret ends, set up the neck to fix dead spots and fixed the internal pot wiring that was messed up from the get go. Now I have a nice tele with a Gibson type bridge and hummers for under $500 (guitar plus repairs) thanks to my go to guitar techs. They have a nice inventory of guitars at the shop too!

Bass Intonation

Took my Squier jazz bass in for intonation, new strings which I provided, and neck work. In a week i got it back like a brand new bass. Finger board and frets were cleaned and filed, neck truss rod was adjusted and straightened, pickup heights adjusted as well as other needed work, all for the price quoted.
I can't remember the guys(Steve?) name but he was excellent. Made sure he knew what I was expecting and explained all that was done when I picked it up.
I have musician friends and would recommend Guitars on Main to work on their guitars.

Fender setup and fret dressing

This is my second guitar I have brought to Steve and Guitars on Main. The first time was perfect. I am mostly satisfied with the second one. The set up is absolutely perfect. The frets are much better than they were make no mistake about that, but there is still a little more fret spraut I wish wasn’t there. However it’s possible that was as much as could be done. Overall I’m happy and will bring more in the future.

We’re glad to hear the setup itself hit the mark and that the frets are noticeably improved. Fret end dressing is typically an add-on service, although Steve often does some complimentary smoothing when needed as part of his normal workflow. In your case, it sounds like there’s still a bit more comfort to be gained.

The guitar tech Steve is Awesome!!

Awesome set up! Real quality workmanship in regards to premium set up, rewire and new pickup installation. With that being said, after dropping a little over $600.00 for the work that Steve did, I found a note on my receipt, recommending what brand of guitar I should buy because the ones I brought in require a tremendous amount of work!! I really didn't appreciate that after dropping that kind of cash! I didn't mind paying for Steve's amazing workmanship, but I could've done without Bob's note on my receipt. I was so pissed off after reading that on the receipt, that I didn't even want to test out the guitar in the store.
