Waterloo WL-12 Parlor Acoustic Guitar

The Waterloo WL-12 is one of those small-body acoustics that just feels right the second you pick it up. Built by the Collings team in Austin, it takes inspiration from pre-war parlor guitars and the old Kalamazoo style instruments players still chase today. Even though it is compact, it has a voice that is warm, open, and surprisingly full.

Because it is a 12 fret design, the bridge sits farther down on the lower bout. That shift helps this little guitar produce a rounder low end and a more relaxed, vintage kind of response. It is a natural fit for fingerstyle, blues, roots, and singer songwriter work.

The top is solid spruce paired with solid flamed maple back and sides. Maple gives the guitar clarity and a quick, punchy attack. Chords stay clean and defined, and single notes jump out easily. Inside, you get vintage inspired X bracing that keeps the guitar lively under the right hand.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable moderate oval profile with an Indian rosewood fingerboard and a short 24 and seven eighths inch scale. That shorter scale makes the guitar feel soft and easy to play, especially when fretting chords. An adjustable truss rod and drop in bone saddle make long term maintenance simple.

The WL-12 keeps the vintage look as well. It has a sunburst finish in a thin semi gloss nitro, ivoroid binding, a tigerstripe pickguard, and Golden Age Restoration tuners. An ebony bridge and ebony pins round out the aesthetic. A hardshell case is included.
